Thomas Hlavacek is a photographer and media artist based in Toronto. Using photography, video and sound, Hlavacek's work investigates the physical spaces we navigate and inhabit. Exploring natural and urban environments as sites of human presence and contemplation, his projects examine the sensory phenomena through which we comprehend and engage with our surroundings. The work often foregrounds cultural and aesthetic conditions that mediate our experience of the world and perception of everyday reality.
Thomas Hlavacek holds a MA from the University of Toronto and is currently a member of Gallery 44 Centre of Contemporary Photography.
